Afghan Evaluation Society is an active Voluntary Organization for Professional Evaluation in Afghanistan, registered with the Afghan Ministry of Economy as a non-profit organization. AfES is established by a number of Afghan professional evaluators in response to the need to promote the theory, practice, demand and use of evaluation in Afghanistan.

Afghan Evaluation Society works with the government, private sector, NGOs and donor community to advance monitoring and evaluation for sustainable development in Afghanistan; it does so through establishing networks, strengthening individual and institutional capacities, and advocating for a better culture for monitoring and evaluation. AfES is closely working with global evaluation initiatives and networks and partner organizations, including regional and national VOPEs for the common goal of strengthening evaluations.
